Double-Engine Government Accelerating Haryana’s Development at Triple the Pace: CM Nayab Singh Saini

Chandigarh, September 6: Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, while addressing the Vikas Sankalp Jansabha organised at the Grain Market in Bawani Khera on Sunday, presented a comprehensive roadmap for the all-round development of the area. A massive gathering turned up at the public meeting to hear the Chief Minister. At this historic gathering, the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stones of seven development projects worth approximately Rs. 78 crore. He said that the BJP’s double-engineered government at the Centre and in Haryana is now undertaking development works at three times the pace.

Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Shruti Choudhry, the organiser of the public meeting and MLA Sh. Kapoor Singh Valmiki, MP Chaudhary Dharambir Singh, former Rajya Sabha MP Smt. Kiran Choudhry, Bhiwani MLA Sh. Ghanshyam Saraf, Nalwa MLA Sh. Randhir Singh Panihar and former Minister Sh. J.P. Dalal was also present on the occasion.

The Chief Minister said that the massive public participation in today’s rally is a testament to the people’s unwavering faith in the policies of Haryana’s double-engine government. Reiterating his resolve for the bright future of Bawani Khera, he said that a new chapter of development would be written at every step and the area would touch new heights of progress. He stated that development works worth Rs. 1,446 crore 38 lakh have been carried out in this Assembly constituency during the last 12 years, whereas the corresponding figure was only Rs. 609.58 crore during the 10-year tenure of the previous Congress government.

He said that over the last 12 years, the government has undertaken several important development works in the area. The Bhiwani-Hansi section of NH-148B has been completed at a cost of Rs. 1,322 crore. NH-709A has been constructed at a cost of Rs. 749 crore. The Bhiwani-Khark section of NH-709E has been converted into a four-lane road at a cost of Rs. 169 crore. Doubling of the Manheru-Bawani Khera railway line is underway at a cost of Rs. 413 crore, of which 12 kilometres of work has been completed. Meanwhile, a waterworks in Khark Kalan has been constructed at a cost of Rs. 29.47 crore, while the Sunder Distributary lining has been completed at a cost of Rs. 21.27 crore.

Describing farmer welfare as the government’s top priority, the Chief Minister said that Haryana is the first state in the country where all 24 crops are being procured at Minimum Support Price (MSP). So far, Rs. 1,86,000 crore has been directly transferred into the accounts of 12 lakh farmers against crop procurement. During the last 12 years, farmers have been provided Rs. 16,160 crore as compensation for crop losses.

The Chief Minister said that in the direction of women’s empowerment, Rs. 2,042 crore has been provided to 10 lakh women under the Deen Dayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana at the rate of Rs. 2,100 per month. Under the ‘Har Ghar-Har Grihini’ scheme, 15 lakh families are being provided LPG cylinders for Rs. 500. He said that under social justice and welfare of the poor, the income limit for the Backward Classes has been increased from Rs. 6 lakh to Rs. 8 lakh, while reservation has been provided in Panchayats and urban local bodies.

Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that under the policy of providing government jobs without ‘kharchi-parchi’ (bribes or recommendations), more than 2 lakh youth have been provided government jobs in Haryana. Through the new Haryana Progressive MSME Policy-2026, a target has been set to attract investment of Rs. 55,000 crore and create more than 5 lakh new employment opportunities. At the same time, the Haryana Overseas Employment Cell has been constituted for youth seeking employment opportunities abroad.

The Chief Minister mentioned the Haryana Uday programme under the anti-drug campaign and informed that marathons, cyclothons and seminars are being organised in all districts, along with strict action against drug traffickers. He said that a decision has been taken to celebrate the 650th Prakash Parv of Sant Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj on a grand scale at the state level. He appealed to the general public to participate in large numbers in the Samrasta Yatra, which will reach Haryana on October 5. The Chief Minister said that his government remains committed to public welfare, good governance and inclusive development in its third term as well.

*Inauguration and foundation stone laying of projects worth Rs. 78 crore*

The Chief Minister today inaugurated the Government Senior Secondary School, Gujrani, constructed at a cost of Rs. 3.51 crore; the building of the Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Kalinga, constructed at a cost of Rs. 2.62 crore; the office complex and staff residential buildings of the Canal Rest House in Khera village, constructed at a cost of Rs. 16.98 crore; and the renovation of two waterworks and the water supply distribution network in Bawani Khera, completed at a cost of Rs. 28.89 crore.

In addition, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stones for the Deen Dayal Upadhyay 25-bed Ayurvedic Hospital in Prem Nagar, to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 9.60 crore; a new link road from Nathuwas via Gujrani to Bamla, to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 10.59 crore; and a Primary Health Centre in Baliyali, to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 4.72 crore.

*Government strengthening drinking water and irrigation systems: Shruti Choudhry*

Haryana Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Shruti Choudhry said that the present government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, is continuously working for the welfare of the state and the interests of every section of society, including all 36 communities. Due to the special efforts of the Chief Minister, a major transformation is set to take place in Haryana’s irrigation system. With the assistance of the World Bank, an amount of Rs. 6,000 crore will be spent on the reconstruction of all major canals, channels and other irrigation infrastructure in Haryana, ensuring water reaches all tail-end areas of the state. In addition, works on the Butana Branch and Sunder Branch have been approved at costs of Rs. 211 crore and Rs. 190 crore, respectively. The government’s objective is to ensure adequate water availability for farmers and people of the region and further strengthen the irrigation system.

The Cabinet Minister said that in the past, Late Chaudhary Bansi Lal and Late Chaudhary Surender Singh made a special contribution towards the development of the region. They undertook extensive work to transform this drought-prone area into a green and prosperous region. Through the Irrigation Department, they implemented the lift irrigation scheme, which is a unique example in itself. After them, the present government led by Sh. Nayab Singh Saini is now working towards further developing the region. She said that due to deficient rainfall this year, there is a shortage of water in the canals, but availability of canal water for 16 days will soon be ensured. The organiser of the public meeting and MLA Sh. Kapoor Singh Valmiki welcomed Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini on his arrival in Bawani Khera and submitted a memorandum of demands for the development of the constituency.
