Special Programmes to be Held Across Haryana on September 17 with the Spirit of ‘Ek Diya–Ek Aashirwad’

Dr. Arvind Sharma Urges People to Join Seva Sankalp Abhiyan

Chandigarh, September 16 – Haryana Cooperation, Jails, Tourism, Heritage and Elections Minister, Dr. Arvind Sharma, said that special programmes will be organised across the State with the spirit of ‘Ek Diya–Ek Aashirwad’ at the launch of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan beginning on September 17. ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ will be lit at major tourism complexes and selected tourist destinations, prominent institutions of the Cooperation Department, heritage and historical sites, as well as jails across the State.

In a video message on the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, Dr. Arvind Sharma urged the people of the State to join this campaign of service, resolve and public participation. He said that the campaign, beginning on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, is an opportunity to take the spirit of service to every citizen. Every individual should strengthen this resolve of service through their participation.

He said that every diya lit with the spirit of ‘Ek Diya–Ek Aashirwad’ will symbolise service, resolve and positivity, as well as good wishes for the peace and prosperity of the country and the State. The initiative will involve tourists, local residents and youth at tourist destinations; members and employees at cooperative institutions; and officers and employees at jail premises.

Public Service Prime Minister Modi’s Guiding Mantra, Government Schemes Have Brought Change in People’s Lives

Dr. Arvind Sharma said in his video message that public service has been Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guiding mantra. With this spirit, the Central Government has implemented policies and schemes that have brought positive changes in the lives of common people. Citing vaccine development during the Covid period as an example of India’s self-reliance, he also referred to schemes such as Lakhpati Didi, action against Naxalism, India’s growing role on the global stage and its foreign policy.

He urged the people of the State to make the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan a campaign of public participation. He said that every individual can become a part of this campaign by lighting a diya at their homes and institutions on September 17.

‘25 Years of Service–A New Flight for Haryana Tourism’ to be Showcased

Under the campaign, the Tourism Department will organise photo and digital exhibitions at major tourism complexes on the theme ‘25 Years of Service–A New Flight for Haryana Tourism’. The exhibitions will showcase Haryana’s journey of tourism development, its religious and historical heritage, the Surajkund International Crafts Mela, Kurukshetra-Jyotisar, Pinjore, Morni, Dhosi Hill, and the development of farm and rural tourism.

Dr. Arvind Sharma directed officers of the departments concerned to identify locations for the ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ programme, complete the necessary preparations in time and ensure that the programmes are organised in a dignified manner. He said that through the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, the Tourism, Cooperation, Jails and Heritage Departments will carry forward the spirit of service and public welfare at their respective levels.
