State-Level Half Marathon 2026 to be held in Narnaul on August 9, Chief Minister to flag off the marathon

 

 

Chandigarh, August 6- Under the Haryana Government's Haryana Uday Abhiyan, the District Administration, Mahendragarh (Narnaul), is organising the State-Level Half Marathon 2026 on August 9, 2026, as part of its Community Policing and Outreach Programme.

Calling upon the youth, sportspersons and people from all walks of life to participate enthusiastically, Health Minister Ms. Arti Singh Rao said the event is not merely a marathon but a mass movement aimed at encouraging young people to stay away from drug abuse and embrace a healthy and disciplined lifestyle. She said the initiative reflects the state government's unwavering commitment to promoting fitness, creating social awareness and encouraging greater public participation. 

The marathon will commence at 7:00 a.m. from Nooni Shekhpura–Sector Mor on the Narnaul–Mahendragarh Road, which has been designated as the new starting point for this year's event. The Health Minister said that the Chief Minister will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest and flag off the runners. In keeping with the spirit of the upcoming Independence Day celebrations, this year's marathon has been themed "Har Ghar Tiranga." 

To encourage participants, the district administration has announced attractive cash prizes for both the men's and women's categories in the 10-km race. The winners securing the first, second and third positions will receive Rs. 1 lakh, Rs. 50,000 and Rs. 25,000, respectively. 

In addition, the top three winners of the 5-km race, which is open to participants of all age groups, will be presented with trophies by the Chief Minister. Every participant will also receive a commemorative medal in recognition of their enthusiastic participation. 

The Health Minister urged citizens, youth organisations, educational institutions and voluntary organisations to actively participate in the marathon and strengthen the campaign for a drug-free, healthy and fit Haryana. Interested participants can register online through the designated official web portal.
