Sant Baba Isher Singh Ji Showed Humanity the Right Path through Naam Simran, Gurbani and Seva- CM

Chandigarh, September 17 – Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, said that the lives of saints and spiritual leaders show society the right path. Sant Baba Isher Singh Ji dedicated his entire life to Naam Simran, Gurbani, Kirtan, Seva and the welfare of humanity. His tradition of spiritual devotion and service continues to inspire lakhs of devotees even today.

The Chief Minister on Thursday attended the 51st Barsi Samagam of Sant Baba Isher Singh Ji of Rara Sahib in Jurasi, Pehowa, Kurukshetra, and paid his respects to the revered saint. On the occasion, the Chief Minister announced Rs. 21 lakh for the Gurdwara Management Committee.

Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that the Barsi of a great spiritual personality is not merely an occasion to remember his life, but also an opportunity to resolve to imbibe his teachings in our lives and follow the path shown by him. Saints may no longer be among us in physical form, but their words, thoughts and tradition of service continue to guide society forever.

The Chief Minister said that the day holds special significance. Bhagwan Vishwakarma Jayanti is being celebrated across the country today. Bhagwan Vishwakarma symbolises creation, craftsmanship, skill and labour. The day also marks the birthday of Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi. On the occasion, various programmes associated with service, public participation and public welfare are being organised across the country and the State.

Recalling the life of Sant Baba Isher Singh Ji, the Chief Minister said that he was born on August 5, 1905, in village Alowal of Patiala district in Punjab to Mata Ratan Kaur Ji and Sardar Ram Singh Nambardar Ji. He was named Gulab Singh in his childhood. During his youth, he received the guidance and spiritual company of Sant Attar Singh Ji of Reru Sahib. Inspired by him, he partook of Amrit and came to be known as Isher Singh instead of Gulab Singh. Thereafter, he dedicated his entire life to Simran, Seva and the propagation of Gurmat.

Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that Seva and human welfare held special significance in the teachings of Sant Baba Isher Singh Ji. Carrying forward the spirit of service and dedication towards society is the true tribute to such great saints.

Expressing happiness over the organisation of the 51st Barsi Samagam under the guidance of Sant Baba Mann Singh Ji with complete devotion and religious fervour, the Chief Minister said that various religious programmes, including Bhog of Sri Akhand Path Sahib and Sehaj Path Sahib, religious Diwans, Sant Samagam, Kavi Darbar, Ardas and Amrit Sanchar, are being held during the Samagam. Such programmes serve as an important medium to connect the Sangat with the Guru Ghar and take the teachings of saints to every section of society.

Sant Baba Mani Singh Ji, former Minister of State, Sh. Subhash Sudha; senior BJP leader, Sh. Jai Bhagwan; Zila Parishad Chairperson, Smt. Kanwaljit Kaur Maur; Baba Surjit Singh Ji; Baba Dilbag Singh Ji; Sarpanch, Sh. Nishan Singh; Media Coordinator, Sh. Tushar Saini; Deputy Commissioner, Sh. Vishram Meena and several other dignitaries were present on the occasion. A large number of Sadh Sangat also participated in the Samagam.
