Rs. 284.18-Crore Project Approved for 39 Villages of Mahendragarh District- Ranbir Singh Gangwa

 

Chandigarh, July 30- Haryana Public Health Engineering and Public Works (Buildings & Roads) Minister,  Sh. Ranbir Singh Gangwa on Thursday said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, the State Government is committed to providing clean drinking water to every household through tap connections. To ensure clean and adequate drinking water supply to 39 water-scarce villages of Mahendragarh district and the Nangal Chaudhary town group, the Government has accorded technical approval to a comprehensive Rs. 284.18-crore Drinking Water Augmentation Project.

The Public Health Engineering Minister said that the project has been divided into three packages for implementation. The work under the first package, costing Rs. 53.47 crore, has already been awarded and execution has commenced on the ground. 

The Cabinet Minister said that under this far-reaching project, three new independent water works will be constructed at Sirohi Bahali, Musnota and Asavas. In addition, new rising main lines for raw water will be laid for the existing water works at Nangal Dargu and Nangal Choudhary (Mohanpur). 

He further informed that the tendering process for the second and third packages is in the final stage. The second package, costing Rs. 30.69 crore, includes the Asrawas Water Works and the rising main line, while the third package, costing Rs, 41.12 crore, includes the Musnota Water Works and the construction of a second lifting station at Nangal Dargu and Nangal Choudhary.  

The Public Health Engineering Minister directed the officials to ensure the use of quality materials and complete the entire construction work within the stipulated 540-day period. He said that the State Government is working with complete dedication to fulfil its resolve of providing safe drinking water to every household. 

He further said that the department has prepared a project for the construction of a new disposal system for Narnaul city in Mahendragarh district and the laying of new sewer lines in the remaining streets, at an estimated cost of Rs. 34,62,14,896 (approximately Rs. 34.62 crore). The estimated cost of the project has been fixed at Rs. 34,62,14,896, and a 365-day timeline has been prescribed for its completion. He said that the project will primarily focus on civil engineering works, which will provide permanent relief to the residents of the city from sewerage-related problems.
