Prepare an Action Plan to Develop Waste-to-Wonder Parks in Every District: Local Bodies Minister Vipul Goel

Chandigarh, August 5: Haryana's Local Bodies and Revenue Minister, Sh. Vipul Goel, directed officials to prepare a comprehensive action plan for developing Waste-to-Wonder Parks in every district of the state. The initiative aims to beautify cities while ensuring the effective utilization of solid waste.

The Minister was chairing a review meeting with officials of the Urban Local Bodies Department to assess the projects proposed under the Urban Challenge Fund. The meeting was attended by Commissioner and Secretary of the Urban Local Bodies Department Shri Ashok Kumar Meena, Director Shri Mukul Kumar, and Commissioners of various municipal bodies.

Shri Goel said that a Waste-to-Wonder Park is currently being developed in Gurugram, and similar parks will be established in other urban local bodies across the state. He said the initiative would promote the reuse of urban waste while creating attractive public spaces for citizens.

He also directed officials to prepare action plans for developing multi-level parking facilities in urban vegetable markets, converting old Municipal Corporation offices into commercial complexes, and strengthening drinking water supply in areas under the Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) as well as in the old localities and colonies of Gurugram.

The Minister further instructed officials to prepare proposals for the development of a sports complex at Naggal in Panchkula, construction of a shopping complex, convention-cum-banquet hall at the old Municipal Committee office in Jagadhri, and setting up a Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) at IOCL, Panipat, for the treatment of wastewater.

In addition, the meeting included detailed discussions on preparing action plans for the upgradation of the Aravalli Golf Course in Faridabad, development of multi-level parking and commercial complexes, and redevelopment of the Gonchi Drain and Budhia Nala.
