Chandigarh, September 22:  Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), an organisational position is not merely a designation but a responsibility towards public service and the organisation. He said the BJP's 46-year journey has been shaped by the dedication, commitment and resolve of millions of party workers towards nation-building.

He said the ideology of serving the nation has continued to move forward from Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee and former Prime Minister Sh Atal Bihari Vajpayee to Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi. He urged party workers to take the message of Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi's 25 years of public service and good governance to the people.

The Chief Minister was speaking on Tuesday at a programme held at 'Panchkamal' in Panchkula to mark the assumption of office by Engineer Sunil Sen as the newly appointed State President of the BJP's Backward Classes Morcha (OBC Morcha). The programme was presided over by BJP State President Dr. Archana Gupta.

While extending his best wishes to Engineer Sunil Sen on assuming his new responsibility, the Chief Minister said that the Backward Classes Morcha should work to reach the last person in society and focus on further strengthening the organisation at the booth level. He said that October 7 marks the completion of 25 years of Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi's journey in public service and nation-building through governance. He said that the Prime Minister's tenure as Chief Minister and Prime Minister has been a significant chapter of public life, marked by service, good governance, resolve and a commitment to nation-building.

The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi has transformed the concept of political power, making it a means of public service rather than personal comfort, and has consistently worked with the objective of serving the people and strengthening the nation.

        The Chief Minister called upon party workers to actively participate in the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’, being observed from September 17 to October 17. He said that it is the collective responsibility of the organisation and the government to ensure that the benefits of public welfare schemes and development initiatives reach the person standing at the last mile.

Speaking on the occasion, BJP State President Dr. Archana Gupta said that since Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini come from the OBC community, the role and responsibility of the community within the organisation assume even greater significance. She called upon the OBC Morcha to further strengthen the organisation in every Assembly constituency and across all regions, guided by the resolve of “Jahan Kam, Wahan Hum”.

Dr. Gupta emphasised that organisational strengthening should remain a key priority of the OBC Morcha. She called for greater participation of OBC community workers, along with Panchs, Sarpanchs, councillors and other public representatives, in the activities of the Morcha, with outreach extending to the booth level.

The BJP State President said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi, the National Commission for Backward Classes (NCBC) was granted constitutional status. She also highlighted the implementation of 27 per cent reservation for the OBC category in the All-India Quota for undergraduate and postgraduate medical and dental seats. Highlighting the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana, she said that significant efforts have been undertaken to support traditional artisans by providing them with skill training, modern tools, financial assistance and access to markets.

She said that by leveraging modern technology, skill development and improved market linkages, the traditional skills of artisans can be promoted in both domestic and international markets, thereby creating greater opportunities for employment and enhancing incomes.

Former BJP State President and Chairman Sh. Mohan Lal Badoli, Cabinet Ministers Sh. Krishan Lal Panwar and Sh. Ranbir Gangwa, several MLAs, State Presidents of various Morchas, organisational office-bearers and a large number of party workers were present on the occasion.
