Haryana Government to Soon Bring Policy on 24-Metre Roads

Gurugram’s Issues Being Addressed in a Time-Bound Manner: Industries and Commerce Minister

Chandigarh, September 19 – Haryana Industries and Commerce Minister, Rao Narbir Singh, said that Badshahpur is the largest Assembly constituency in the State, spread over a vast area with parts falling under two municipal corporations. With the constituency witnessing rapid development, projects are being planned keeping its future requirements in view. The State Government is fully committed to the overall development of Badshahpur and no shortage of development works will be allowed.

The Cabinet  Minister was interacting with residents during a public grievance hearing programme at Uniworld Gardens-2 in Sector 47 on Saturday. He said that the government is working to fulfil the expectations with which the people of Haryana have given the BJP an opportunity to serve the State for a third term. Development-related demands raised by residents would be examined as per rules and taken up on priority.

Later, Rao Narbir Singh inaugurated a 24-metre sector road at Godrej Aristocrat Society, connecting Sector 49 with Golf Course Extension Road. Constructed by Godrej Properties, the road will provide easier connectivity to nearly 30,000 residents and schoolchildren in the area.

Rao Narbir Singh said that construction of 24-metre roads is an important issue in urban areas and Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, has already held several rounds of meetings with officers on the matter. The Haryana Government will soon bring a policy on 24-metre roads to facilitate residents and appropriately address issues related to such roads. He said that policy-level decisions are being taken keeping the needs of the area in view so that people do not face inconvenience due to development works.

The Minister said that the people of Gurugram district had expressed their confidence in the BJP by giving it a full mandate in 2014, 2019 and 2024. He said that Gurugram’s existing issues are being addressed in a time-bound manner and any shortcomings noticed in development works would be rectified.

He said that Gurugram is developing rapidly and its growing population and urban expansion require continuous strengthening of basic infrastructure. Development plans are therefore being taken forward keeping both the present and future requirements of the city in view.

Emphasising the importance of public participation in environmental conservation, Rao Narbir Singh said that government initiatives cannot achieve their intended objectives without active involvement of citizens. He urged people to avoid single-use plastic and plant at least one sapling on every happy occasion in their lives. He also called upon them to care for the saplings regularly for at least five years so that they grow into trees, helping create a cleaner and safer environment for future generations.
