Addressing the gathering,  Rao Narbir Singh extended his heartfelt greetings and best wishes to Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi, on his birthday. He said that through the nationwide ‘Seva Sankalp’ Abhiyan, which began today on the occasion of the completion of 25 years of the Prime Minister’s public life dedicated to the service of the nation, priority is being accorded to social service and public welfare.

He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi, the country is moving rapidly on the path of development and economic progress, and the world is also acknowledging India’s growing economic strength and pace of development.

The  Cabinet Minister said that along with the progress of the nation, it is equally important for every citizen to be healthy, aware and empowered. Service-oriented initiatives such as health check-ups and blood donation strengthen our sense of responsibility and sensitivity towards society.

Encouraging those who came for health check-ups and the blood donors at the camp, he said that every act performed with a spirit of service not only strengthens society but also gives meaningful expression to the resolve of public welfare.

Rao Narbir Singh said that farmers also have an important role in building a healthy society. Farmers should avoid the unnecessary use of pesticides and chemicals in crops and adopt safe and balanced agricultural practices. He said that chemicals used in fields affect not only the soil and environment but also people’s health through food. Therefore, farmers should practise farming with due awareness to ensure the availability of healthy food to the people.

He said that the objective of campaigns such as ‘Seva Sankalp’ is not merely to organise programmes for a day, but to continuously strengthen the spirit of service, health and public welfare in society.
