Modern Laboratories for Science, Computer and Robotics Being Established as per the Needs of Present Time: CM Nayab Singh Saini

Chandigarh, August 9- Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that modern laboratories for science, computers and robotics being established in accordance with the needs of the present times will open new avenues for experimentation, research and innovation for students. At the same time, technology-enabled classrooms will make the learning process more engaging and interesting for the youth.

The Chief Minister was addressing the inaugural ceremony of new educational facilities at O.P. Jindal Modern School in Hisar on Sunday. He inaugurated the ‘Utkarsh’ Administrative Block, ‘Uday’ SEN Wing, ‘Udgam’ Swimming Pool and ‘Utsav’ Auditorium on the school premises.

The Chief Minister said the ceremony was being organised as part of a series of programmes marking the 96th birth anniversary of former minister, eminent industrialist, philanthropist and nation-builder, Late Sh. O.P. Jindal. He paid his respectful tribute to the great personality.

Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that the modern facilities available at the school will help prepare the new generation according to the requirements of the present era. He congratulated the school management committee and teachers for this new beginning. He said that the school, which was established in 1997 and has made a significant contribution to the spread of education, was named O.P. Jindal Modern Senior Secondary School. With modern methods, technology and modern thinking, the school is preparing modern citizens. Therefore, taking forward the dreams of Sh. O.P. Jindal would be a true tribute to him, he added.

The Chief Minister said that the Innovation Hub established at the school is a particularly commendable initiative. Every child possesses unique abilities, imagination and ideas, and needs an environment where they can express their thoughts, transform them into models and projects, and work with peers and teachers to find solutions to problems. The centre will strengthen students’ abilities in areas such as creative thinking, teamwork, leadership and problem-solving.

The Chief Minister said that such educational institutions will play an important role in preparing the new generation according to the requirements of the 21st century. They will also make a major contribution towards the practical implementation of the New Education Policy and the building of a Viksit Bharat-Viksit Haryana. In line with the vision of Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi, the New Education Policy will provide youth with education that makes them character-oriented, employable and skilled.

Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that the government is working according to the Prime Minister’s guiding principle for building a New India. To realise this vision, several initiatives have been undertaken for the bright future and skill development of the youth. These efforts are bringing positive changes at the grassroots level across the state. He said that wherever Innovation Hubs have been established, new start-ups should also emerge from there and contribute to building a better future for the younger generation. The government’s endeavour is to ensure that students become not job seekers but job creators.

Haryana AI Mission a New Initiative

Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that under the leadership of the Prime Minister, the youth should move forward. So far, more than 10,000 young people have adopted start-ups and benefited from them. The government has taken another new initiative by establishing the Haryana AI Mission. AI Hubs will be established in Gurugram and Panchkula through this mission. He said that the government is moving forward with the aim of providing world-class education in the state and has taken several concrete decisions in this direction.

The Chief Minister said that digital education has been promoted in schools through smart classrooms, distribution of tablets and encouragement of e-learning. Model Schools of Excellence are being established in every block, while education in Artificial Intelligence, coding and digital skills is being provided to children. Skill development programmes are being linked with schools, and research and innovation are being promoted in higher education. Atal Tinkering Labs have been established in all districts of the state. More than 55,000 schools have been connected with Wi-Fi.

Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that to promote digital education in the state, five lakh tablets have been provided to students of Classes 10 to 12, digital boards have been installed in around 40,000 classrooms, and 1,201 ICT labs have been established. He said that in 2014, there were only 13 Government Model Sanskriti Senior Secondary Schools in the state, which have now increased to 218. During the last 11-and-a-half years, the government has established 1,420 Government Model Sanskriti Primary Schools across the state.

Emphasis on Establishing Model Sanskriti Senior Secondary Schools

The Chief Minister said that in compliance with the announcement to establish one Model Sanskriti School within every 10-kilometre radius, 25 Government Model Sanskriti Senior Secondary Schools have so far been established. The government has also started a total of 250 PM SHRI Schools in Haryana. He said the soul of higher education lies in research and scholarly work, and therefore, an amount of Rs. 20 crore has been released during the current financial year.

Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that students of Haryana’s government schools are showcasing their talent not only at the state level but also at the national level. The Super-100 programme has enabled hundreds of students studying in government schools to secure admission to prestigious institutions such as IITs, IIMs, NITs and other reputed institutions across the country. In view of its success, the number of Super-100 seats has been increased from 400 to 500 this year. In addition, the Buniyaad programme has also been expanded so that children from rural areas and economically weaker families can receive quality guidance.

Five Girls from Haryana Among 7 State Players Won Gold Medals at Commonwealth Games

The Chief Minister said that, owing to the new sports policy, India won 13 gold medals out of its total 39 medals at the Commonwealth Games, with Haryana players winning seven of these medals. Of these, five gold medals were won by daughters of Haryana. He said that the government is working at a rapid pace in every sector. Efforts are being made to provide modern healthcare services at every district-level hospital under the Ayushman Chirayu Yojana. In addition, medical colleges are being established in every district to expand healthcare services.

The Chief Minister said that the government has provided houses to 1.60 lakh families over the last 12 years with the aim of ensuring a roof over the head of every person. In urban areas, plots measuring 30 square yards have been provided to 5,500 people. These plots are linked with the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana for construction of pucca houses.

On the occasion, Public Works and Public Health Minister Sh. Ranbir Gangwa, Jindal Group Chairperson and MLA Smt. Savitri Jindal, MLAs Sh. Randhir Panihar and Sh. Vinod Bhayana, office-bearers of the O.P. Jindal Charitable Trust, Principal Ms. Nandita Sahu, teachers, parents and students were present.
