Minister Krishan Lal Panwar participates in cleanliness drive at Mata Mansa Devi Temple under Seva Sankalp Abhiyan*

Chandigarh, September 19: Carrying forward the pledge for cleanliness championed by Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Sh Nayab Singh Saini, Haryana Development and Panchayats Minister Sh Krishan Lal Panwar on Saturday participated in a cleanliness drive at the Mata Mansa Devi Temple complex, Panchkula, under the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’. He contributed voluntary labour and conveyed the message of cleanliness to the general public.

Sh Krishan Lal Panwar personally swept the market area near the main entrance of the Mata Mansa Devi Temple. He collected the waste and disposed of it in the dustbins placed within the temple complex.

Mayor Sh Shyam Lal Bansal, Deputy Commissioner Sh Satpal Sharma, OSD to the Chief Minister Sh B.B. Bharti, Chairperson of the Haryana State Commission for Scheduled Castes Smt. Banto Kataria, Chief Executive Officer of the Mata Mansa Devi Shrine Board Sh Vivek Arya, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Sh Vinay Kumar and BJP State Vice President Smt. Latika Sharma also participated in the cleanliness drive and contributed voluntary labour.

Sh Krishan Lal Panwar directed the officials to undertake a special drive to ensure cleanliness across the entire Mata Mansa Devi Temple complex. He said that the initiative would not only spread the message of cleanliness but also provide a clean and pleasant environment for devotees visiting the temple from far and wide. He added that a comprehensive cleanliness drive would soon be launched at the village level across Panchkula district, with cleanliness-related activities being carried out simultaneously in all villages.

He said that the government’s objective is not only to improve sanitation facilities in urban and rural areas but also to transform cleanliness into a mass movement. He emphasized that the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ is not merely a programme but a pledge to take the spirit of service to the last person in society.

The Development and Panchayats Minister said that cleanliness is not merely a government campaign but also the responsibility of every citizen. He said that a clean and healthy society can be built only when citizens become aware of the importance of cleanliness and resolve to keep their surroundings clean.

*Tree plantation drive held to spread the message of environmental conservation*

Earlier, Minister Sh Krishan Lal Panwar, along with other dignitaries, planted saplings at Tikona Park located within the temple complex and conveyed the message of environmental conservation. He said that Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi has launched the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign and called upon citizens to plant at least one tree in their mother’s name.

Sh Krishan Lal Panwar also urged the people of the State to plant at least one sapling under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign and take responsibility for its care and protection.

Dignitaries present on the occasion included Secretary, Mata Mansa Devi Shrine Board Smt. Sharda Prajapati, SDO Sh Rakesh Pahuja, Deputy Municipal Commissioner Sh Abhay Singh, Executive Officer Municipal Corporation Smt. Nisha Sharma, District Development and Panchayats Officer Sh Vishal Parashar and Mata Mansa Devi Shrine Board members Sh Devender Dhawan, Dr. Puneet Bedi, Sh Ishwar Jindal and Sh R.P. Malhotra. Councillors Sh Rajkumar Jain, Smt. Paramjit and Sh Suresh Verma were also present on the occasion.
