Massive Turnout in Palwal to Honour the Tricolour, Historic Tiranga Yatra Led by Sports Minister Gaurav Gautam
Chandigarh, August 13- Palwal witnessed an impressive display of patriotism, national pride and reverence for the Tricolour on Thursday as a historic Tiranga Yatra, led by Haryana Sports and Youth Empowerment Minister, Sh. Gaurav Gautam, drew a massive public response. Carrying a gigantic Tricolour measuring 5 kilometres in length and 10 feet in width, the yatra created a memorable chapter of patriotism in the history of Palwal.
The yatra commenced from the Palwal Police Lines in the morning and witnessed increasing participation as it passed through various parts of the city. Citizens lined both sides of the roads holding the Tricolour, while chants of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ and ‘Vande Mataram’, patriotic songs and the sight of people marching together beneath the giant Tricolour created an electrifying atmosphere across the city.
The yatra received a grand welcome at nearly 20 locations. At several places, the Tricolour was honoured with flower showers, while people welcomed the participants amid drum beats and patriotic songs. The participation of people from all sections of society was a major highlight of the event. School students, teachers, youth, women, senior citizens, traders, social organisations and various other groups participated in and welcomed the yatra with great enthusiasm.

Sh. Gaurav Gautam said that the Tricolour symbolises the honour, pride and glory of the nation. He said the enthusiasm with which the people of Palwal honoured the national flag was a matter of pride for the entire district.
He said patriotism was not confined to any individual, organisation or section of society, but resided in the heart of every Indian. The Tricolour inspires all citizens to move forward together with a commitment to unity, integrity and national interest.
Sh. Gaurav Gautam expressed his gratitude to the citizens, students, teachers, women, senior citizens, youth, social organisations and workers who participated in and welcomed the Tiranga Yatra.

The Tiranga Yatra was formally flagged off from the Palwal Police Lines. As the 5-kilometre-long Tricolour moved forward with the yatra, an atmosphere of immense enthusiasm and patriotic fervour prevailed among the people present there. The sheer scale of the giant national flag attracted everyone's attention, while citizens saluted the Tricolour and raised slogans of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’.
As the yatra proceeded from the Police Lines through different routes, citizens were seen waiting in large numbers to welcome it. Many people arrived with their families, while children carried small Tricolours and a large number of youngsters participated in the yatra carrying the national flag with pride.

The participation of school students remained one of the major attractions of the Tiranga Yatra. A large number of students, accompanied by their teachers, gathered along the route to welcome the yatra. The sight of children holding the Tricolour and expressing their patriotic spirit added to the grandeur of the occasion.
