*Jind Bypass Chowk to Get a New Look; Flyover to be Constructed at a Cost of Rs. 91.97 Crore*

*Strengthening Road Infrastructure and Ensuring Smooth Movement of People is a Priority of the State Government: Ranbir Gangwa*

Chandigarh, September 22- Haryana Public Works and Public Health Engineering Minister Sh. Ranbir Gangwa said that the state government is continuously working towards strengthening the road and transport infrastructure. The government aims to ensure smooth traffic movement on major routes, reduce traffic congestion and provide safe and better commuting facilities to the people. In line with this objective, administrative approval has been accorded for the construction of a flyover, including approaches, at Jind Bypass Chowk in Rohtak.

Sh. Ranbir Gangwa said that administrative approval of Rs. 91.97 crore has been accorded for the project proposed by the Haryana State Roads and Bridges Development Corporation (HSRDC). The project will be implemented by HSRDC under the NCRPB loan assistance scheme.

He said that Jind Bypass Chowk is a major traffic junction in Rohtak. Traffic heading towards Jind, Narwana, Panipat and Hisar, along with traffic from Rohtak’s Southern Bypass and adjoining rural areas, passes through this junction. Due to increasing urbanisation and traffic, the vehicular pressure at this junction has been rising, particularly during peak hours.

The Public Works Minister said that the route carries approximately 10,000 to 12,000 PCUs of traffic every day. This includes mixed traffic comprising different types of vehicles, including cars, buses, trucks, tractors and two-wheelers. Traffic movement at the junction is affected due to vehicle crossings and turning movements, resulting in delays for commuters.

He said that the proposed flyover will improve traffic flow at Jind Bypass Chowk and help reduce conflict points arising from vehicle crossings and turning movements. This will help reduce congestion and delays during travel, besides improving road safety.

Sh. Ranbir Gangwa said that road projects are being taken forward on a priority basis keeping in view the growing traffic requirements of major cities and routes in the state. The government’s endeavour is to provide people with better road infrastructure along with safe and smooth movement.

Administrative approval of Rs. 91.97 crore has been accorded for the project. The flyover will be constructed on the Rohtak-Jind Road, including approaches.
