IGNOU Extends Last Date for July 2026 Fresh Admission and Re-registration up to 30 September: Dr. Dharam Pal

Karnal, 16 September 2026: Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has extended the last date for fresh admission and re-registration for the July 2026 session up to 30 September 2026, providing an additional opportunity to learners seeking to pursue higher education and continue their studies.

Dr. Dharam Pal, Regional Director and Head, IGNOU Regional Centre Karnal, informed that, with the approval of the Competent Authority, the last date for fresh admission to all notified programmes offered in ODL and Online modes for the July 2026 session has been extended up to 30 September 2026. However, this extension is not applicable to Semester-based programmes and Certificate programmes.

He further informed that the last date for re-registration for the July 2026 session has also been extended up to 30 September 2026. Learners opting for re-registration during the extended period will have to pay a late fee of ₹200/- in addition to the prescribed programme fee. This facility is applicable to programmes offered in both ODL and Online modes.

Dr. Dharam Pal appealed to all eligible learners who have not yet completed their fresh admission or re-registration process for the July 2026 session to complete the online process before 30 September 2026. He stated that IGNOU is committed to providing accessible and quality higher education opportunities to learners from different sections of society, enabling them to pursue education according to their convenience and circumstances.

He also advised learners to follow the instructions and guidelines available on the official IGNOU website for admission and re-registration and cautioned them against relying on information received through unauthorized sources.
