Haryana Orders Full Rollout of e-Office Across Government Offices, All Official Files and Correspondence to Be Processed Through Digital Platform

Chandigarh, August 4: The Haryana Government has directed all departments, boards, corporations, authorities, and district offices to implement and use the e-Office system for official work. This initiative aims to fully digitise office operations and enable electronic file movement at both the State Headquarters and district levels.

Haryana Chief Secretary Sh. Anurag Rastogi has instructed all Administrative Secretaries, Heads of Departments, Divisional Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, Managing Directors, Chief Administrators of Boards and Corporations, and Registrars of Universities to ensure effective implementation of the e-Office system.

According to the instructions, the e-Office platform is a flagship e-Governance initiative developed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC) under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). It is designed to promote paperless, transparent, efficient, and accountable administration by digitising the creation, processing, movement, and management of official files and correspondence.

Haryana has been promoting digital governance through the e-Office platform since its launch in 2017. The system has been implemented in phases across various departments, boards, corporations, Deputy Commissioners' offices, and other government organisations. It has improved efficiency, reduced delays, strengthened record management, maintained audit trails, and enhanced transparency and accountability, he added.

It has been further ordered that all official files and correspondence shall thereafter be processed and moved through the e-Office platform in accordance with the prescribed procedures and guidelines.

The notification holds Administrative Secretaries, Heads of Departments, Managing Directors, Chief Administrators, and Deputy Commissioners responsible for timely implementation in their offices. They must arrange for user creation, digital signatures, staff training, and necessary IT infrastructure to ensure a smooth transition.

The Government has also directed all relevant authorities to promote the full digital processing of official work, minimise physical files, and ensure regular use of the e-Office platform to ensure efficient and transparent operations. Departments needing technical assistance should coordinate with NIC Haryana, HARTRON, or the designated State e-Office support team.
