CM Reviews Preparations for Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, Issues Necessary Directions to Officers

Chandigarh, September 16 – Haryana is set to join the nationwide Seva Sankalp Abhiyan from September 17 to October 17, marking Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi’s 25-year journey of public service and taking forward the resolve of Viksit Bharat through public participation. The month-long campaign will begin across the State today with the ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ programme, with citizens participating enthusiastically and expressing their gratitude towards service, dedication and social responsibility.

Through the ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ programme, efforts are being made to connect different sections of society with service-oriented activities. On the occasion, diyas will be lit at identified locations and major project sites, while beneficiaries will also light diyas along with their families.

The Chief Minister on Wednesday chaired a key meeting in Chandigarh to review the preparations for the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan. During the meeting, he reviewed in detail the preparations for various programmes proposed under the campaign and issued necessary directions to the officers.

Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Sh. Shyam Singh Rana, Chief Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Sh. Rajesh Khullar, Chief Secretary, Sh. Anurag Rastogi and other senior officers were present at the meeting. Deputy Commissioners of all districts joined the meeting through video conferencing.

The Chief Minister said that districts should finalise dates and action plans for programmes well in advance. Nodal officers should be designated at the district level, and every programme should be regularly monitored. He also directed the officers to obtain regular progress reports on the programmes from the districts.

He said that under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, Seva Camps should also be organised at the block level and in Municipal Corporations, Municipal Councils, Municipal Committees and Mahagrams. At these camps, grievances related to beneficiary details under various departmental schemes should be resolved, and new eligible beneficiaries should be enrolled on the spot. The Chief Minister made it clear that services should be provided at the camps themselves so that no citizen has to make rounds of government offices after visiting a camp.

The Chief Minister directed the School Education and Higher Education Departments to organise activities related to service, nation-building and creativity in schools, colleges and universities. Painting, rangoli and other creative competitions should be organised for students. Outstanding activities and innovations at the district and school levels should be identified and showcased on a wider platform. Maximum participation of students and youth should also be ensured under the campaign.

He said that all departments should undertake micro-planning of the programmes in close coordination with each other. Programme dates should be scheduled in a manner that ensures maximum public participation in each event.

Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that the objective of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan is to ensure active participation of society in service-oriented activities. Therefore, every programme should be meticulously planned at the administrative level, and the campaign should be effectively implemented at the village, block, district and State levels.

Second Phase of Lado Lakshmi Yojana to be Launched; Workers to Receive Benefits under Various Welfare Schemes

Along with the launch of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, important initiatives towards women empowerment and workers’ welfare will also be undertaken at the Vishwakarma Diwas programme to be held in Mahendragarh.  The Chief Minister will launch the second phase of the Deen Dayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana, taking forward the process of extending the benefits of the scheme to more eligible women.

On the occasion, eligible workers will also be provided benefits under various welfare schemes being implemented for their welfare. The Chief Minister directed officers to ensure that the benefits of the schemes reach eligible beneficiaries seamlessly and transparently and that all necessary arrangements are made to connect them with the schemes during the programme.

Best Initiatives and Success Stories from Every District to be Documented

Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that innovations, noteworthy initiatives and success stories emerging from the districts during the campaign should be documented. These should be widely publicised through social media and other platforms so that other districts can also draw inspiration from good practices. He also directed the officers to prepare an effective publicity plan for the campaign and make optimum use of digital platforms.
