*CM approves upgradation of Daulatabad PHC in Gurugram to Community Health Centre*

*Three new Sub-Health Centres to be opened in Karnal*

Chandigarh, August 26- The Haryana Government has taken a significant step to further strengthen and improve access to healthcare services in rural areas. Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini has approved an important proposal to establish three new Sub-Health Centres in villages of Karnal district and upgrade the Primary Health Centre at Daulatabad in Gurugram district to a Community Health Centre (CHC).

Divulging more details about the decision, Haryana Health Minister Ms Arti Singh Rao said the State Government is continuously working to ensure quality healthcare services reach rural areas. As part of these efforts, the Chief Minister has accorded in-principle approval for setting up one new Sub-Health Centre each in Chand Samand, Khirajpur and Nalvi Kalan villages of Karnal district. The new centres will enable residents to access primary medical care and basic health check-up facilities closer to their homes.

The Health Minister further said that as part of the expansion of healthcare infrastructure, the government has also approved the upgradation of the Primary Health Centre at Daulatabad village in Gurugram district to a Community Health Centre. The upgradation of Daulatabad PHC will provide residents of dozens of surrounding villages access to specialist doctors, modern diagnostic facilities, improved emergency services and additional beds. This will reduce the need for residents to travel to distant hospitals in the city for primary treatment of major illnesses.

Ms Arti Singh Rao said the decision will prove to be a significant milestone in strengthening the healthcare network in rural areas. A stronger healthcare infrastructure at the primary and community levels will help reduce the patient load on district-level hospitals while enabling people to access better and timely treatment within their own areas, she said.
