Chief of Army Staff called on Haryana  Governor Prof. Ashim Kumar Ghosh

Chandigarh, Aug 10 - General Dhiraj Seth, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM Chief of the Army Staff called on Hon'ble Governor of Haryana Prof. Ashim Kumar Ghosh at Lok Bhavan, Haryana here today. 

During the interaction, issues related to civil military synergy and regional security were discussed. Also present in the meeting were Lady Governor Smt. Mitra Ghosh, Lieutenant General Pushpendra Singh, AVSM, SM Army Commander Western Command, Secretary to the  Governor Sh. Vijaykumar Bhavikatti, and other functionaries of Army Headquarters and State Government. This was the first meeting of the Army Chief with the Governor since assuming the command of Indian Army.

The meeting focused on vide spectrum of issues including internal security, empowerment of the  youth, employment of Agniveers, welfare of Ex Servicemen, housing projects, initiatives taken towards Atmanirbharta and operational preparedness. Response towards natural disasters, preparatory and mitigation measures to minimise their effects was also discussed during the meeting. Exemplary performance by sports persons of Indian Army belonging to the State was also lauded.

The COAS assured the Governor of Indian Army's commitment and resolve for National security and Nation building. The meeting concluded with exchange of mementos and strengthened the strong bond between services and State administration.
