Chief Minister Pays Obeisance at Shri Radha-Krishna Temple in Kotla Kalan

Chandigarh, September 3 – Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini on Thursday visited Shree Radha-Krishna Temple at Sant Baba Bal Ji Ashram in Kotla Kalan, Himachal Pradesh, where he paid obeisance and sought the blessings of revered Rashtriya Sant Baba Bal Ji Maharaj. On the occasion, he prayed for the peace, prosperity and well-being of the State and the country.

The Chief Minister said his visit to the sacred Shree Radha-Krishna Temple and the revered Baba Bal Ji Maharaj’s Ashram at Kotla Kalan filled him with devotion, peace and joy. He appreciated the work being done by Sant Baba Bal Ji Maharaj in providing spiritual guidance to society through devotional music, satsangs and Bhaktamal Kathas.

He said Himachal Pradesh is not only blessed with natural beauty but is also a land of spirituality and penance. It is Devbhoomi, where service, simplicity and spirituality hold a special place in its culture. Haryana and Himachal Pradesh may be separated by administrative boundaries, but their culture, faith, values and close bonds have always connected the two States. He said their boundaries may be different, but their sentiments are one.

The Chief Minister said the life of Lord Shri Krishna teaches us the message of Karmayoga. In the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita, Lord Shri Krishna accorded the highest importance to Karma and inspired mankind to discharge its duties with sincerity. Regardless of the circumstances or the magnitude of challenges, one should never step back from one’s duty.

He said the same spirit of Karmayoga is essential for nation- and society-building. Society and the nation can become stronger only when every individual fulfils their responsibilities with sincerity.

*Essential to Remain Rooted in Values while Embracing Modernity*

The Chief Minister said it is extremely important to connect the new generation with its culture and roots. Embracing modernity is welcome, but modernity should not mean becoming disconnected from one’s roots.

He said drug abuse has emerged as a serious challenge for the younger generation. Youth must be kept away from drugs and encouraged to engage in sports, education, yoga, spirituality and nation-building. Temples, ashrams and the Sant Samaj can play an important role in this endeavour.

Calling upon the youth, the Chief Minister urged them not to allow their precious lives to become enslaved by drugs and instead channel their energy towards building a stronger society and nation.
