Cabinet approves amendments in Haryana Development and Regulation of Urban Areas Rules, 1976

 

Chandigarh, August 13: The Haryana Cabinet, which met under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini here today, approved amendments to the Haryana Development and Regulation of Urban Areas Rules, 1976, in accordance with the recommendations of the 45th Report of the Committee of Vidhan Sabha on Subordinate Legislation (2016-17).

The amendments seek to simplify and streamline various provisions relating to applications, scrutiny, communication of decisions and renewal of licences under the urban development regulatory framework.

The amendments have been approved on the basis of nine recommendations of the Committee, which were found suitable for incorporation in the Rules. The remaining 12 recommendations out of the total 21 were found to be already covered under the Haryana Development and Regulation of Urban Areas Act, 1975, the existing Rules or government policies.
