Benefits under Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Awas Navinikaran Yojana to be Extended Soon- Krishan Kumar Bedi
Chandigarh, August 19- Haryana Social Justice, Empowerment, Welfare of Scheduled Castes & Backward Classes, and Antyodaya (SEWA) Minister, Sh. Krishan Kumar Bedi, said that eligible beneficiaries of the Dr B.R. Ambedkar Awas Navinikaran Yojana will be provided benefits on the occasion of the 650th birth anniversary celebrations of Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Maharaj.
Sh. Krishan Kumar Bedi was chairing a meeting with senior officers in Chandigarh on Wednesday. Additional Chief Secretary, Dr. G. Anupama Deputy Principal Secretary to Chief Minister and Director, Social Justice and Empowerment Department, Sh. Ajay Kumar, Joint Secretary, SEWA Department, Sh. Jai Parkash and other senior officers were present at the meeting.
The Social Justice and Empowerment Minister said that under Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Awas Navinikaran Yojana, financial assistance of Rs. 80,000 is provided to Scheduled Caste families living below the poverty line for renovation of their houses. He directed the officers to identify eligible Scheduled Caste families at the district level so that benefits under the scheme can be provided to them promptly.
Sh. Krishan Kumar Bedi said that the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Awas Navinikaran Yojana has now been extended for the welfare of poor families belonging to all sections of society. He informed that under the scheme, financial assistance of Rs. 415.48 crore had been provided to 85,815 beneficiaries from all sections up to June 30, 2026. The scheme will be resumed from September 25 for the welfare of poor Scheduled Caste families.
Sh. Krishan Kumar Bedi said that the State Government is taking significant decisions for the welfare of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes with the objective of ensuring the economic and social upliftment of poor families and bringing them into the mainstream of society. He said that schemes such as the Mukhyamantri Vivah Shagun Yojana, Mukhyamantri Samajik Samrasta Antarjatiya Vivah Shagun Yojana, Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme for Scheduled Caste Students and Mukhyamantri Yuva Pratibha Protsahan Yojana have been implemented and their benefits are reaching eligible beneficiaries at the grassroots level.
The Social Justice and Empowerment Minister said that under the leadership of the Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, the Government has implemented the Sant-Mahapurush Samman Evam Vichar Prachar-Prasar Yojana and taken the initiative to officially commemorate the birth anniversaries of saints and great personalities, thereby giving due recognition to their contribution and strengthening their connect with the people.
