Chandigarh, August 24: Haryana Labour Minister Sh. Anil Vij said that the registration of 5.18 acres of land in Sector-33 of the Haryana Urban Development Authority (HSVP) for the establishment of a 100-bedded state-of-the-art hospital by the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) in Ambala Cantonment will be completed soon. Following the registration, possession of the land will also be handed over to ESIC shortly. The hospital will provide better and modern healthcare facilities to around 70,000 insured workers and their families in Ambala and the adjoining areas and districts.

Sh. Anil Vij was chairing a review meeting in Chandigarh today with officials of ESIC, the Labour Department and the Haryana Shahari Vikas Paradhikaran regarding the proposed 100-bedded ESIC hospital in Ambala Cantonment. During the meeting, he reviewed the progress of various works related to the project and directed the officials to complete all formalities related to the construction of the hospital at the earliest.

Construction of Boundary Wall of ESIC Hospital to Begin Soon-Anil Vij

Sh. Anil Vij said that construction of the boundary wall of the proposed ESIC hospital in Ambala Cantonment will also begin soon. In addition, the process of preparing the building plan will be completed shortly, following which tenders will be invited so that construction work can proceed within the stipulated timeframe.

Instructions to Prioritise Land Registration, Possession, Boundary Wall, Building Plan and Tender Process-Anil  Vij

During the meeting, officials informed Sh. Vij that a 100-bedded hospital will be established by ESIC on 5.18 acres of HSVP land in Sector-33, Ambala Cantonment. The Central Government has sanctioned approximately Rs. 13 crore for making the land available for the hospital. Vij directed the officials to expedite all further procedures related to the establishment of the hospital and to complete the land registration, transfer of possession, construction of the boundary wall, preparation of the building plan and tendering process on priority. He said that this would ensure that insured workers and their families can avail themselves of the hospital's facilities at the earliest.

He said that the State Government had sent a proposal to the Central Government for the establishment of an ESIC hospital in Ambala Cantonment. The Central Government approved the proposal and sanctioned approximately Rs. 13 crore for the land. Once established, the hospital will provide high-quality healthcare services to around 70,000 insured workers and their families residing in Ambala and the adjoining districts.

Insured Workers in Saha Industrial Area and Surrounding Districts to Benefit Directly-Anil Vij

Labour Minister Sh. Anil Vij said that Ambala Cantonment and the Saha Industrial Area are located close to Sector-33, where a large number of workers are employed. Therefore, thousands of insured workers and their dependents working in the Saha Industrial Area, Ambala Cantonment and surrounding areas will directly benefit from the proposed ESIC hospital.

He said that the hospital would prove to be a major healthcare facility for insured workers in Ambala Cantonment, surrounding areas and adjoining districts. Its establishment will reduce the dependence of patients on hospitals located far away and enable them to access specialised medical services locally. Vij said that he himself has been continuously coordinating with the Central Government and the concerned departments for some time to ensure the early implementation of this important project. He said that the establishment of the ESIC hospital in Ambala Cantonment is an important step towards providing better, timely, accessible and patient-centric healthcare services to insured workers and their families.

Hospital to be Equipped with Modern Medical Facilities

Sh. Anil Vij said that the proposed 100-bedded hospital will be equipped with state-of-the-art medical facilities. A modern laboratory and the latest medical equipment will be installed at the hospital, enabling patients to access a wide range of diagnostic and treatment facilities under one roof. The hospital will have facilities for X-ray, ultrasound, LFT, KFT, CBC, lipid profile, urine routine microscopy, blood sugar, MRI, ECG and other essential blood and diagnostic tests. This will reduce the dependence of insured persons on other healthcare institutions for diagnostic services. In addition, the hospital will provide major specialist services, including Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Orthopaedics, ENT, Ophthalmology, Dermatology, Psychiatry and Emergency Medicine.

The hospital will also have 24×7 emergency and trauma care, a modern ICU, advanced diagnostic facilities, as well as in-patient, out-patient and day-care services. Indoor treatment and other modern medical facilities as required by patients will also be made available, he added. Vij said that the objective of the hospital is to provide quality healthcare services to insured workers and their families close to their place of residence, ensuring timely treatment and better medical care, particularly in cases of serious illness.

During the meeting, officials informed the Labour Minister that construction of the ESIC hospital in Bahadurgarh is in its final stages. The progress of other hospitals and dispensaries across the state was also reviewed during the meeting.
