Haryana Prepares for Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, PM Modi’s 25 Years of Public Service to Reach Citizens

Haryana Education Minister Sh. Mahipal Dhanda addressed a press conference at the PWD Rest House on Railway Road in Sonipat regarding the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, which will be organised from September 17 to October 17, 2026, to mark the completion of 25 years of Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi’s public life and public service. He said that Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi has dedicated 25 years of his public life to serving the country, nation-building and strengthening India. During these 25 years, from his tenure as Chief Minister of Gujarat to becoming the Prime Minister of the country, he has taken several decisions and undertaken numerous initiatives that have given a new impetus to the country’s development.

The Education Minister said that the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan is not merely a programme, but a comprehensive campaign to take the work of Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi over 25 years in the fields of service, dedication and nation-building to every section of society. Thirteen major programmes have been planned under the Abhiyan in Haryana, which will be taken to villages, streets and neighbourhoods, schools, institutions and booth level.

Sh. Mahipal Dhanda said that as Chief Minister of Gujarat, Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi got an opportunity to rebuild the state after major natural disasters such as the devastating Bhuj earthquake. Despite extensive loss of life and economic damage at the time, Gujarat rebuilt rapidly and, in the following years, established a new identity in the field of development.

He said that during his nearly 12-13 years as Chief Minister of Gujarat, a model of development emerged that was discussed not only across the country but also globally. It was due to these development initiatives and his leadership capabilities that public confidence in Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi grew across the country, and in 2014, the people of India blessed him by electing him as Prime Minister.

*Prime Minister’s significant contribution in enhancing India’s pride*

The Education Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi, India has established a strong identity at the global level. He said that the conferment of the highest honours by numerous countries on the Prime Minister is also a symbol of India’s growing global influence. He said that the Prime Minister’s vision is not limited to taking India forward, but also to taking India’s ideas and the spirit of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ to the world. India’s objective is to promote peace, human welfare and development across the world. For this, it is first necessary to make India economically, socially, technologically and strategically strong.

*Road, rail and air connectivity gave impetus to development*

Sh. Dhanda said that strong infrastructure is essential for the development of any country. He said that during the tenure of former Prime Minister Sh. Atal Bihari Vajpayee, historic work was undertaken to connect villages with all-weather roads through the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana. Thereafter, under the leadership of Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi, there has been unprecedented expansion in road, rail and air connectivity. He said that today, better road connectivity is available across most parts of the country. The expansion of national highways, expressways, railways and air services has increased opportunities for trade, employment and development. He said that the changes in infrastructure across Haryana as well as the country are visible to the common citizen.

*Decisive decisions taken in the field of security*

The Education Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi, several important decisions have been taken to strengthen the country’s internal and external security. Describing the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir as a major decision, he said that it has created a new environment of development and peace there. He said that earlier, terrorism and separatism in Jammu and Kashmir had created numerous challenges for ordinary citizens. Today, a major change can be witnessed in the situation there. Similarly, systematic action has been taken against Naxalism, strengthening the environment of peace and security in several parts of the country.

*Basic facilities reached poor families*

Sh. Mahipal Dhanda said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi, special attention has been given to providing basic facilities to poor and needy families. Through the Ujjwala Yojana, LPG connections have been provided to women from crores of poor families. He said that the Swachh Bharat Mission launched a nationwide campaign to construct toilets in homes. Issues that people had earlier hesitated even to discuss publicly were made national priorities by the Prime Minister. As a result, a large number of families across the country have gained access to facilities essential for living a dignified life.

*‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ programme to celebrate development works*

The Education Minister said that the Aashirwad Ka Diya programme will be organised under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan. Under this programme, lamps will be lit at places where important development works have been completed at places where important development works have been completed in recent years. He said that where new roads, national highways, schools, colleges, community health centres, primary health centres, hospitals, secretariats or other important development projects have been completed, citizens will gather to light lamps and express their gratitude for this journey of development.

*‘Sapno Ka Bharat’ to connect with the dreams of school students*

Sh. Dhanda said that the Sapno Ka Bharat programme will be organised to provide a platform to the dreams and imagination of the children of the country. Under the programme, various competitions, including speeches, painting and rangoli, will be organised in government and private schools. He said that these competitions will first be held at the school level, followed by the district level and then the state level. Winning students will be awarded prizes and encouraged. He said that bringing forward children’s vision of what India should be like will be an important objective of the programme.

*‘Namo Seva Gatha’ to provide information about public welfare schemes*

The Education Minister said that under the Namo Seva Gatha programme, information about various public welfare schemes and policies implemented under the leadership of Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi will be taken to the common people. He said that information about Jan Dhan accounts, women and maternal health, skill development, Har Ghar Nal Se Jal and various other schemes will be provided to citizens at the booth level by workers and members of society. The objective will also be to create awareness among eligible beneficiaries so that they can avail themselves of the benefits of these schemes.

*Special activities for children and mothers at Anganwadi centres*

He said that a special programme titled ‘Aangan’ will be organised at Anganwadi centres. Various competitions and activities will be conducted for young children. The mothers of the children will also be associated with these programmes. In addition, focus will be placed on providing pregnant women with essential information regarding healthy pregnancy, nutrition and child health. The Education Minister said that healthy children and healthy mothers are the foundation of a strong India.

*25 years of transformation to be showcased through ‘Kahani Badlav Ki’*

Sh. Mahipal Dhanda said that the Kahani Badlav Ki programme will showcase the changes that have taken place in the country during Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi’s 25 years of public life and take them to every section of society. Street plays, social media and other creative mediums will be used for this purpose. People will be informed about the transformation that has taken place over the years in the fields of roads, electricity, water, healthcare, education, security, technology and public welfare.

*‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra’ to convey the message of the 2047 goal*

The Education Minister said that through the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, the resolve to make India a developed nation by 2047 will be taken to every household and every village. He said that the goal of a developed India is not the resolve of any one individual or political party, but a collective resolve of 140 crore Indians. He called upon the youth and all sections of society to contribute to the building of a developed India. He said that positive thinking and collective efforts are essential to achieve the goal of making India a developed nation by 2047.

Sh. Dhanda said that a ‘Seva Jyoti Yatra’ will also be taken out during the Abhiyan. Its objective is to strengthen the spirit of service, dedication and commitment in society. Institutions and social organisations working in the field of service will be associated with it. He said that institutions working for society are also playing an important role in preserving our culture, traditions and social heritage. Efforts to familiarise the new generation with its traditional culture should also be considered an important form of service.

*‘Seva Mera Yogdan’ to make citizens partners in service*

The Education Minister said that the Seva Mera Yogdan programme will inspire every individual to serve society according to their ability. One person may contribute through a cleanliness drive, while another may serve through a blood donation camp. He said that service does not have a single form. Every positive action undertaken for society is a contribution to nation-building.

*108-metre-perimeter Rangoli Rashtra to be a special attraction*

Sh. Dhanda said that the Rangoli Rashtra programme will also be organised under the Abhiyan. Under this programme, a huge rangoli based on the map of India will be created within a perimeter of 108 metres. An effort will be made to depict the culture, cuisine and diversity of different states of India through this rangoli. He said that natural materials such as rice, leaves and other natural items will be used, while the use of plastic and chemical materials will be avoided. He said that students and talented individuals with an interest in art and painting will also be associated with the programme so that their creative talent can be connected with the spirit of national pride.

*National Innovation Challenge and Jan Seva Mahakumbh to be organised*

The Education Minister said that a total of 13 major programmes, including the National Innovation Challenge and Jan Seva Mahakumbh, will be organised under the Abhiyan. The objective of these programmes is to provide a platform for the talent, spirit of service and creativity of different sections of society. He said that the programmes being held from September 17 to October 17 should not be viewed merely as activities limited to one month; rather, their objective is to strengthen the spirit of service and nation-building in society for the long term.

Sh. Mahipal Dhanda said that there is a plan to take all these programmes to the booth level. Along with every worker, support will also be sought from social, religious, spiritual, literary and other organisations. Schools, colleges and various institutions will also be associated with the Abhiyan. He said that programmes will be organised on a large scale to take the major changes that have taken place in the country during Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi’s 25 years of public life, as well as his vision and ideas, to every section of society. The Education Minister said that the core spirit of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan is to draw inspiration from Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi’s 25-year journey of service, dedication and nation-building and encourage every citizen to resolve to contribute to the country and society in their own capacity.
