Haryana’s Special SIR Campaign Receives Successful Response, Next Campaign Set for September 26-27

Chief Electoral Officer, Haryana, Sh. A. Sreenivas, said that during the special campaign held on September 12 and 13, a total of 31,816 applications were received under Form-6, 2,501 under Form-7 and 16,689 under Form-8.

 

He said that with these applications, a total of 2,06,533 Form-6 applications, 19,514 Form-7 applications and 1,49,488 Form-8 applications have been received so far.

 

Sh. A. Sreenivas said that the special campaign days organised as part of the claims and objections process have received an encouraging response. The next special campaign will be held on September 26 and 27, during which citizens can submit applications to their nearest Booth Level Officer (BLO) for inclusion of names in the electoral roll, deletion of names, correction of particulars and other claims and objections.

 

He said that September 30 is the last date for submitting forms related to claims and objections. Citizens having any objection should, therefore, submit their applications within the stipulated period.

 

*BLOs to Remain Present at Polling Stations from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.*

 

The Chief Electoral Officer said that on the special campaign days, BLOs will remain present at their respective polling stations from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. to receive claims and objections from eligible electors.

 

Claims and objections will be disposed of by October 28. After rectification of all errors, the final electoral roll will be published on November 6.

 

Sh. A. Sreenivas said that citizens’ participation is extremely important in making the electoral roll transparent and up-to-date. The objective of the special campaign days is to involve the maximum number of eligible citizens in the process and make them aware of their electoral rights.
